Who or what last made you laugh out loud
My children make me laugh. Luna 2 is constantly trying to get everyone's attention and screams “Ladies and Gentleman welcome to the Luna show”. Lyon 5 - is just realizing his feelings for girls – one in particular! And his grown up responses when quizzed about it are hilarious, latest reply - “its complicated. Beau 10 is also being very grown up in her conversation- but her naïvety is endearing and does make me giggle!
Who or what inspires you
My children – I’ve always wanted to ‘do’ or ‘be’ for them. So they can be as proud of me, as I am of them.
Your words to live by
James' motto - "make time for the unusual"
What cause or causes do you feel passionate about
Having children means that are focus is on giving to other families and children when we can. - We are hosting the UNICEF Halloween ball here at Aynhoe Park this year and we both feel very strongly about this cause and making as much as we can for this charity as they focus their efforts on children in Syria.
We also met a wonderful charity in the summer called The Flying Seagull Project, this non profit organization spreads laughter and smiles – to children in refugee camps all over the world through games, arts, play, music and crafts workshops and circus shows.
We are also very excited about hosting the Sugarplum charity children’s party next year here at the house, a charity very close to our hearts.
Best piece of advice you’ve ever been given
I seem to always be rushing around, busy with children, busy with the house and work – I forget about me. Sometimes I forget to breathe! Taking 5 mins when you’re busy to breathe and centre yourself – really helps – to refocus and reinvigorate.
Your London in an hour
Then I would have to go for lunch at The Ledbury – hands down the best food and their lunch menu is amazing. I am a vegetarian and the food is incredible - though the Michelin star chef Brett Graham uses a lot of meat and fish on his menu he really knows how to create a taste sensation! – and they know a good wine to!!
Your favourite London view
At a restaurant or a café with a street view – I like to people watch in London – take it all in.
Are you working on anything at present
Aynhoe is my home – my work and our passion.
Describe your style
I guess I’m a bit bohemian in style… I am a magpie for a bit of embroidery and embellishment – love linen and leather. I wear buckle boots with everything – and I love layers - and jackets!
Whose style do you most admire, past or present
Oh gawd – I admire all the Mums at school who look great at the school gate in the morning whilst I am not so put together!
Favourite piece from the ENLIST collection
I love the black and grey long coat - its perfect for going out, defiantly one of my favourite statement coats.
